Procedure

The unit consists of a gasifier, which generates producer gas from bio-waste and uses it to run an engine. Fuel wood or briquettes from agricultural residues can be fed to this gasifier. After checking all the filters and filling the hopper, we can start the Gasifier. Initially we need to go to ignition pot and fill it with some waste wood or any waste paper and ignite it with match stick. After igniting, switch on the blower and wait for 5-10 minutes and open the gas valve and burn the gas and if it is burning properly then close the gas valve and switch off the blower and switch on the ignition coil switch in the control panel then press the starting switch. Once the engine gets started, turn on the water pump and cooler motors’ switch.

About The Owner

Mr Rai Singh Dahiya who had no formal education was a farmer for long time. His education & background never let him stop to do something innovative which can be beneficial to the farmers and can have a revolutionary social & environmental impact on the society. He was spending long time listening to BBC radio, where he learnt that smoke releases from traditional chulha and crop burning generates a large amount of CO2 and other poisonous gases. This not only causes serious health issues but also affects our ozone layer. He observed all this in his village. He also observed that farmers were unable to grow crops due to lack of irrigation as there was no grid connection in the village and farms. The alternate was diesel generator which was too expensive to afford for irrigation. To overcome these problems, he invented small size biomass gasifier in which these crop residues can be used as fuel to produce electricity. He also made improved smokeless biomass stove.
